John Newell

has more than 3 decades of experience in the investment industry acting as an officer, director, portfolio manager and investment advisor with some of the largest investment firms in Canada. Focusing on precious metals equities and commodities, John began his career in 1980 with Richardson Greenshields where he was one of the first investment advisors in Canada to adopt computerized portfolio management software alongside traditional asset selection and management techniques. John joined Fieldhouse Capital Management in 2012 as Portfolio Manager of the Fieldhouse Absolute Return Precious Metals Fund. Specializing in precious metals equities and commodities, John follows a disciplined proprietary approach incorporating equity research, analytical frameworks and risk controls to evaluate and select long and short stocks primarily from the Canadian small and mid-cap coverage universe.
